JOIN/SUPPORT THE ALLIANCE

The 2006 and 2007 achievement of statewide funding for arts education has opened the door to putting arts education in public school classrooms across California. It has also made the work of the California Alliance for Arts Education more vital than ever. We have made some great initial progress, but we cannot stop until each and every student in California has access to quality arts education. The Alliance needs your help to make sure that the current funding reaches the most students, with the greatest impact. Looking ahead, we also need to ensure that there is a steady, reliable stream of funding for arts education and that our state and local officials implement the best policies to promote quality arts education instruction.

Arts Education Planning & Leadership Development:
The Alliance educates local decision-makers on the critical importance of arts education to school reform. In collaboration with the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA), the Alliance trains the leadership in more than a dozen\ counties so they can guide the strategic planning for arts education in their school districts.

The Alliance provides customized technical assistance to school districts statewide to facilitate the adoption and implementation of district-wide, long-range budgeted plans for arts education.

 Contributions

Thanks to advocates like you, the Alliance and its growing number of allies played a unique leadership role in helping to secure the $105 million and $500 million in 2006 and $109 million in 2007 in state funding for arts education. This historic success demonstrates the power of our collective efforts to ensure "all the arts for all students in all schools."

Our generous contributions enable the Alliance to continue to educate policymakers, parents and the public about the benefits of an education in the arts, advocate for public policies that ensure equal access to quality arts education for all students, and participate in advancing the arts from the margins to the center of education on behalf of California’s children – who deserve a great arts education, and a bright future.
