Los Al Drama Director Stacy Castiglione, known to her students as “Mrs. C , is new to our district, but she has 10 years of teaching experience, plus an extensive background in various aspects of theatre.  She oversees the high school drama program of approx. 60 intermediate & advanced drama students plus 2 beginning drama classes.  She has set out an ambitious schedule of 6 dramatic productions for her first year, which includes a musical. She coaches students for theatre festivals, the Cappies (Critics & Awards

Program for HS theatre students), and recently brought her high school students to the elementary schools so they could introduce the younger students to drama.

She has professional experience acting, directing, and producing for stage, film, and TV.  She was raised abroad, which gave her international performing opportunities, in addition to regional and US credits. She has been involved in productions of well known works such as, “The King & I”, ”Rent”, “ER” “Toyland”, and the dinner theatre circuit of Orlando FL.
She earned her BA in Theatre at Florida State University and her MA in Theatre Production, & Design at Southern Oregon University.  One product of her education is an as-yet unpublished research project on costume design, which she sees as a resource for other high school theatre teachers.  She was awarded the 2012 OCMAA Teacher of the Year for secondary school theatre and the 2011 Orange Unified Teacher of the Year.  She describes herself as an energetic multi-tasker who can’t sit still and she is enthusiastic about teaching!
She finds that the students themselves are inspiring.  She particularly loves to work with high school aged students, especially when they get excited about theatre and then that interest helps them in other areas of school and life.
